The banished sorcerer Prospero uses his magical powers to punish his enemies when he raises a tempest that drives them ashore. The entire play takes place on an island where Prospero lives with his daughter Mirianda and the native inhabitants, Ariel and Caliban who respectively aid or hinder his work. María debuted on the National Theaters main stage in the role of Miranda.
